The Modern Age
The start of The Modern Age was marked by the beginning of communications between cities. With the lessening threat of monster attacks, people who previously thought they were isolated were able venture out and find each other. Trade and messenger routs were set up, and a governing body known as The Council came to be. Old records that were being held by individual cities were replicated and shared, uncovering events of the past. An attempt was made to contact the old trade partners mentioned in the records of The Golden Age, but none of the ships sent out ever returned and it was deemed pointless to continue trying. Despite its isolation, Inretio was thriving. The continent contained everything necessary to sustain its people, and the discovery of other cities greatly raised morale. However, The Great War soon shattered hopes once again. The Major Cities that survived the war are the same that exist now. Several cities had been destroyed, and those that did survive only did so because of the quick thinking and strong guidance of their local generals. People eventually returned to their daily lives, but there was and still is much worry that the monsters will some day return and finish the job.
