There are even fewer records of The Calamity than of The Golden Age, and many of those that have been found are heavily damaged. From what could be found, it seems that one day, two massive beings suddenly appeared in the sky above Inretio. The sheer size of them made it difficult to discern what they were, but based on surviving descriptions it is believed they were massive dragons. One had gleaming scales as white and pure as snow, and the other had scales as dark as a moonless night. They were engaged in a fearsome battle, destroying everything around them and causing Continental Damage with the strength of their blows. There are records of ships being sent out to seek aid from Inretio's trade partners, but there are no records of those ships ever returning, nor of any aid coming. Almost all of the prosperous cities written about in the records of The Golden Age were destroyed, and the majority of life on the continent was wiped out. It is said that the battle raged for decades, and the survivors could do nothing but hope that the beasts would soon destroy each other without taking everyone else with them. The constant battle did take a toll on the monsters, and it is said that a final blow sent the white dragon crashing into the north eastern corner of the continent, crashing down with such force that it upheaved the land around it, creating mountains. The black dragon fell in the west, shattering a portion of the continent so harshly that only islands remained. There were no reported citings of the dragons after that, but Inretio was still not able to return to its former glory, and instead entered what is known as The Dark Age.
